DOTW Winners September 2020

Roger Brown

DOTW is a lighthearted look at some of the sillier events of the week. Don’t take it too seriously and do pop over to Chit Chat on Yammer and vote each week. Thanks to those of our members who occasionally ‘feature’ for taking the gentle humour in such good part.

Our September “winners” were

• Former prime minister Tony Abbott for his statement in London that the media had spread “virus hysteria” and older people should be left to deal with the virus unassisted (or worse).

• More than a thousand anti-lockdown protesters who say they will join a “Freedom Walk” on the Tan after previous clashes between demonstrators and police.

• Melbourne City Council parking administration which apparently operated a “the customer is always WRONG” and fined drivers for confusing “O” and “0” when entering their car details into council parking terminals.

• Liberal MP Tim Smith for a Facebook poll “Should Daniel Andrews Resign,” where all voting emoticons indicated a YES vote. Facebook users instead improvised to vote no.
