DOTW Highlights October 2021

DOTW is a lighthearted look at some of the sillier events of the week. Don’t take it too seriously and do pop over to Chit Chat and vote each week. Thanks to those of our members who occasionally ‘feature’ for taking the gentle humour in such good part.

October winners were:

Nationals frontbencher Bridget McKenzie who criticised her Liberal Party colleagues for advocating a net zero carbon emissions target,saying that it was easy for members in inner city electorates to back the target, as opposed to those in regional areas

Scott Morrison and his government for approving increased support for controversial fossil fuel projects that promise to capture and store carbon dioxide emissions by awarding them carbon credits. 

The Queensland woman charged with pretending to be a doctor and issuing 600 fake Covid "medical exemption" certificates and who "doesn't believe she's done anything wrong" and is "entitled" to issue the certificates.

The LNP Coalition for blocking a bid to have former attorney-general Christian Porter investigated over his financial disclosures, despite the Speaker of the House having argued there was a case for further scrutiny.


Australia for joining India and China to resist a global bid at the Glasgow summit to phase out coal as an energy source.
